We are learning all sorts of tips and tricks to make research more effective and efficient. "Work smarter, not harder."
Below are some of the things we have learned about as well as some of our favorite search engines.

Tips and Tricks

  • Try using quotes around a person's name. For example, instead of searching for George Washington (which will bring up all sites with the words George and Washington) try searching for "George Washington" which will only bring up sites with those two words next to each other.
  • Boolean Operators - By adding the Boolean Operators (and, not, or) to your search you can start to narrow your search down. For instance, if you are looking for facts about George Washington's childhood, search for "George Washington" and childhood.
